Baked Nashville Hot Chicken

Nashville Hot Chicken is a must-try for any food lover. Imagine biting into ultra-crispy fried chicken, perfectly spiced with a fiery cayenne-infused glaze. Served on a slice of white bread and topped with pickles, dish is a flavor explosion you won’t want to miss. Brush on some extra sauce for an added kick!

Ingredients:

Marinade:

  • 2lbs Chicken tenders

  • 3 Tbsp Louisiana-styled Hot Sauce

  • 1 cup Buttermilk

​Flour:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp of Nashville Joe's Nashville Hot (Not Just) Chicken Seasoning

  • 2 tsp fine table salt

​​

Spice Paste:

  • ½ cup lard, melted and heated (or hot frying oil)

  • 4-8 Tbsp of Nashville Joe's Nashville Hot (Not Only) Chicken Seasoning (Depending on heat level) 

Directions

Step1:

Mix buttermilk and hot sauce, pour over chicken, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours up to overnight.

Step 2:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Step 3:

Mix flour and seasoning together. Evenly coat chicken.

Step 4:

Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.  Remove baking sheet from oven.

Step 5:

Spray each chicken piece with cooking spray; flip and spray the other side.

Step 6:

Continue baking until chicken is no longer pink and the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.

Step 7:

Place Lard (or frying oil) in a large pot. Wisk in Nashville Joe's seasoning. Place over medium-high heat. Cook and stir until fats melt. Remove from heat; keep sauce warm.

Step 8:

Brush chicken with spice paste several times to coat well . Place the finished pieces onto slices of white bread, top with pickles and serve immediately.  You can sprinkle of some Nashville Joe's if you want a little more heat.
